Still Shots


























Shot List.

Shot One - This is a long shot of the couple walking. There are several different locations which we are going to look at to see which one look best. The shot will last one second.
Shot Two - This is another long shot but this one is of the girl pushing the boy away. This will be shot in the same location as shot one. This shot will last two seconds.
Shot Three - This is a medium close up of the boy sat down look down at the ground. This will be filmed in several different location and I will choose the best one. This shot will last three seconds.
Shot Four - This shot is a long shot of the boy standing up and walking away. This will be shot in the same location as shot three. This shot will last three seconds.
Shot Five - This is a high angle shot which makes the boy look small. This will also be used in the same location as shots three and four. This shot will last five seconds.
Shot Six - I haven't decided what I am using for shot six, I am going to decide when I start re-shooting over the Christmas holidays.
Shot Seven - This is a shot of the boy near a park. This links to the line 'preying on the youth'. This shot will last three seconds.
Shot Eight - This is a long shot of the girl walking away. Again, we are going to film this in several different locations. This shot is going to last one second.
Shot Nine - This is a mid shot of the girl pulling her phone out of her pocket. This shot will last one second.
Shot Ten - This shot is a close up of the phone showing the text which the girl received. This shot will last one second.
Shot Eleven - This is a long shot. This shot shows the girl turning around and looking at the boy who is walking behind her. This shot will last two seconds.
Shot Twelve - This is again another long shot. This shot shows the girl carrying on walking. The camera is angled over the boys shoulder. This shot will last two seconds.
Shot Thirteen - This is again another long shot. This shot shows the girl carrying on walking. The camera is angled over the girls shoulder. This shot will last two seconds.
Shot Fourteen - This is a medium close up of the boy ripping up a photograph and throwing it to the ground. This shot will last two seconds.
Shot Fifteen - haven't decided what I am using for shot fifteen, I am going to decide when I start re-shooting over the Christmas holidays.
Shot Sixteen - This is a live performance shot. The shot will last five seconds.
Shot Seventeen - This is either a live performance shot or a mosh pit. This depends on what fits in and what looks best. This shot will last five seconds.
Shot Eighteen - This is another shot of the live performance. This shot will last five seconds.
Shot Nineteen - This is again another live performance shot. This show will last five seconds.
Shot Twenty - This is a shot of the band with the mosh pit still in the shot. This is mainly focusing on the mosh pit. This shot will last five seconds.

18th December 2012.

During my media lesson today, I went out to film some more of my music video. I re-shot shots 3 and 4. This is because I wanted to have these shots in a different part of college so I could choose which shots worked best.

Emily came and met me and we filmed shots 8,9,10,11,12 and 13. Whilst filming these shots we decided which ones should be used and also how we should film them to get a better effect. 

Over Christmas I am going to re-shoot all of my video (excluding the live performance) so I can then see which shots work better. Also, over Christmas we are going to go to different locations throughout Hull for some of the shots and see which shots work best in which locations. 

I am also going to see which outfits work best for which shots. I am going to film a lot more and take several takes of each particular shot so I have a wide variety of shots throughout my music video and it ensures I have a lot of footage to use and also decide from. 

Whilst I was out filming I took some photographs which included the outfits which were included today, the location of where I have been filming, Emily reading her phone, Rob sending the text message and the process of making a roll.

Production Plan

Christmas Half Term:
Over the Christmas Half Term I am filming as much of my music video as I can. I have not been able to get a college camera for over half term so I am going to use my dads camera.

I have currently filmed shots 3,4,5 and they are on the editing suite along with the music for my video.

I have also managed to get a lot of filming done at the Demoraliser gig so I can also use them for my music video. The shots I managed to get at the gig was 16,17,18,19,20,24. These shots are either 3seconds or 5seconds each and will be used when there are instrumentals throughout the music video.

I have also filmed shots 25,26,27 and they are later on in my music video.

The plan throughout half term is to film the remaining shots, which are:
1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30.

There are some shots (6 and 28) which I have not stated on my storyboards because I do not know what to put in for them. I am going to decide what to put in the gaps when I have got more filming finished so I know what to put in and also what goes with the story. 

A lot of my shots are been repeated throughout the second part of the song after it says 'Did you think for a moment, that I wouldn't find you, and hunt you down like the animal you are'.

When it comes to putting all of the music video together, if the live gig shots do not work I can go to my friends band practice and record them covering the song. This may be a better idea due to the fact it will not be dark and I will be able to see more. If i film the live performance from the other band I will still use several shots from the gig throughout my music video. 

I also need to talk to the girl which is featuring in my music video and find out when she is free. We haven't been able to do any filming yet due to the fact she doesn't have any frees when I do and also the fact when she is free on a weekend I am working. 

The majority of my music video will be shot over Christmas half-term.

30th November 2012 - Demoraliser Gig

I am going to film the live performance of the Demoraliser gig tonight at Ringside. I have though of several different ways which I can sort the lighting out if it doesn't work properly. All the footage I get will be in my music video even if there is just little flashes on screen.

27th November 2012 - Continents Gig.

I am starting to film my music video tonight at the Continents gig I am attending at Ringside. I can do several of my shot at the gig tonight. 

I am filming one of the mosh pits from this gig encase I cannot get near the front at the Demoraliser gig which is on Friday 30th November 2012. 

I was talking to the two people which are featuring in my music video and they are both coming to the gig so there is more chance I will be able to film tonight. The filming I do not get done tonight will be then finished during the week and Friday. This ensures I have enough time to edit my video when I have all the footage.

Initial Hair Ideas.

Present Music Videos - Demoraliser




This is Demoraliser's music video and it is not like the one which I am creating. This is because the music video I am creating has a couple of scenes of narrative but when it comes to the instrumental that is going to be a live performance of the band as long as I can get the correct lightning and it looks right. 

Ideas for my music video.

With me been able to get the actual band to be in my music video, I have decided on doing a live performance for my music video. Some of the footage will be filmed on the 30th November when Demoraliser come to Hull to play at Ringside.

When I have looked at the lyrics, it suggests that there is an argument between a couple, so I am including this in my music video. The argument will show that the boy is regretting what he has done to his girlfriend, and he will go out and let his anger out at the Demoraliser gig which is on the 30th November 2012. 

I am trying to get hold of a skateboard so the male can skateboard everywhere and come across different things like sitting down and thinking about what he has done, trying to get in touch with her, ringing her, texting her, skating to her house etc.

Audience Profile.


The audience of the genre of hardcore music is usually males due to the type of music and the feelings that are associated with the lyrics of the songs. However there is a fair few females that listen to this genre but not as many as males. The songs are generally focused at men I think because of the heaviness of the songs and the tunings. The listeners’ age doesn’t have a definitive age but I would say that the average would be 16-25 year olds. People younger than 16 would struggle to get into shows and gigs because the average age to be let in is 16+. The bands that are associated to 16-25 year olds because of the lyrics which is also in the song. The majority of band members are over the ages of 18 and 19.

The genre could be associated with older people because of when it started out. It started out on the back of punk and then slowly overtook it in popularity. Younger people that listen to it because of the rebellious side represented by it and the more the media publicise its upcoming popularity the more the younger people start listening to it.

 The audience usually find a haven in the music and can escape when listening to it. Outsiders to the genre think its noise but to fans of it, it provides self-security and an immense feeling of belonging. As well as a music genre its often described as a family which listeners will search for, a community that they feel accepts them for who they are.

Make-Up and Clothing Ideas.

My model will be wearing dark eye make-up. This is because this sort of make-up is associated with the Hardcore scene and I want my music video to look as realistic as possible. In the upcoming days to me shooting my music video I am going to practice this make-up look on my model so that we can get it right when it comes to filming. I am going to get my model to also wear fake eyelashes so that her eyelashes stand out against the rest of her make-up and make her eyes more noticeable. 




I am getting my model to wear a black high waisted skirt. This is because these types of skirts are in fashion and no matter what genre of music you listen to and follow the dress sense, you will always come across someone wearing a high wasited skirt. I am also going to get my model to wear either; patterned tights or I will buy some tights and put holes in them just to show that she can represent rebelious behaviour. 






I also want my model to have her nose pierced with a ring instead of a stud. The reason why I am doing this is because a lot of people within the hardcore genre have there noses pierced. My model is only 14 years old so I am getting her a fake nose ring because she isn't old enough to get the piercing and her parents will not approve.













I am also including red lipstick within the models costume because it stands out and will attract the viewers to her red lips. Red also connotates romance and even danger and in my video there is romance and even arguments.








I want my model to wear these shoes because it will go with the rest of her outfit and these are in fashion with people in the hardcore music scene and also other music scenes.

The t-shirt that the male is going to wear is a band shirt which will promote the local music scene in Hull. The band shirt which is featured is a Black Dogs t-shirt and they are in the same genre as Demoraliser so it works. There is various different band t-shirts which we will be able to use and we may use several different ones during the shooting of the music video.











My male model will also be wearing skinny jeans, we haven't decided which colour skinny jeans but it will probably be black or light blue. In the video we may use both pairs of jeans.




The vans shoes are known to the hardcore genre so I am getting my male model to wear these. These shoes are also associated with skateboards which I am trying to get so I can use it throughout my video.
